The Perfect Blue Mountains Wedding Venue: Kristi + Shane's Collits Inn Wedding

Tucked away in Hartley Vale, New South Wales is an iconic and understated Australian gem fit for your perfect day. Collits Inn is a Blue Mountains wedding venue that every wedding photographer loves

Before the advent of WedShed was Collits Inn.

Before rustic-style weddings became a wedding planning thing, this Blue Mountains wedding venue (101 Hartley Vale Rd) has been a humble establishment giving joy to marrying couples seeking escape from Sydney.

This was our first visit to Collits Inn and from the moment we first walked up the driveway to the moment we said our goodbyes to Kristi + Shane, we just knew we had come across another favourite wedding venue.

About Collits Inn

Open countryside and sweeping hills – that is how we would describe Hartley Vale NSW. Approximately 150 kilmoetres west of Sydney, it is the ideal location to host a country-style wedding.

What makes this Blue Mountains wedding venue so special is its 190 year old barn that is used as a reception venue. Feature a real fire place, this comes in handy once the sun dips.

Family-owned and with 50 acres of property you can explore for your wedding photos, Collits Inn is one of our favourite wedding venues in Australia.

Collits Inn Wedding Ceremony Options

For most couples, their wedding ceremony contains the most significant wedding day memories. We always recommend that you enlist the professional services of a wedding stylist and wedding planner. They are paramount for making the lead up to your wedding day as smooth as possible.

There are plenty of outdoor wedding ceremony locations to choose from – the problem is picking just one! Regardless of where you choose, we are sure that the natural backdrop will show in your wedding photos and video.

Since Collits Inn is two hours drive from Sydney, your may want to look for wedding stylists who are based in the Blue Mountains area. Otherwise, we love working with Upside Down Events, Form Over Function, and Decorations By Jelena.

Exclusive Use and Check-In Check-Out Times

All couples who have a Collits Inn wedding has exclusive use of the property from midday the day before through to midday the day after the wedding.

Collits Inn understands that wedding days are big and that no one wants to pack things down after midnight.

PS – this wedding venue is licensed until midnight. WUHOO! This means there will be plenty of time for you and your guests to shred the dance floor.

the historic cottage at collits inn serves as accommodation for marrying couples this 190 year old barn doesn't look too shabby for a wedding reception there are unlimited outdoor ceremony options at collits inn wedding ceremony wooden benches are included with all collits inn wedding bookings Australian historic buildings serve as natural wedding photo backdrop for kristi and shane at their collits inn winter wedding

Our Review of Collits Inn From The Perspective of Wedding Photography & Videography – ★★★★★

This Blue Mountains wedding venue gets a lot of things right.

The fact that couples have exclusive use of the estate from midday the day before through to midday the day after the wedding reduces a lot of stress. Not many Australian wedding venues offer this.

As wedding photographers and videographers, there is nothing to dislike! Every which way we turn our cameras, we can create beautiful moments for your big day. And the barn reception event space is to die for.

PS – it gets mighty chilly once the sun dips below the horizon. Especially for winter weddings, a fire pit is highly recommended to stay warm throughout the night.

Do You Have Wedding Photo + Video Packages?

Unlike other Sydney wedding photography studios, we do not offer wedding photography packages.

Because every couple is different and so are their needs, budget and priorities. For example, some couples want a pre-wedding session while others do not. Some couples want their special moments printed in their very own fine art wedding album while others just want their wedding day memories in digital forma.

This is why we prefer to tailor a service that fits with your requirements.

Generally speaking, wedding photography starts from $4,000 and wedding videography starts from $4,500.

Tell us your budget and we’ll see what we can do for you.

How Many Wedding Photos Will We Receive?

Kristi + Shane received 901 final images from their wedding at Collits Inn.

We don’t place a limit on the number of photos that we will take nor will we limit the number of images that we will edit and deliver to you.

We believe that quality moments that have been taken with purpose outweighs sheer volume of average images.

Ultimately, the number of images that you will receive will depend on the length of photography coverage and the scale of your wedding. From a typical 12-hour wedding day, you can expect a minimum of 800 beautiful moments captured in image form.

How Many Wedding Films Will We Receive?

Angus Porter approaches wedding videography unlike any other wedding videography vendor in the industry. In fact, we only offered wedding films because we were frustrated with what the lacklustre industry standard.

For a recent client of ours, we produced a total of thirteen (13) short films for them. Some were documentary style edits (i.e., full speeches, wedding ceremony in full) while the remainder were individual summaries for different parts of their wedding day (e.g., tea ceremony, door games, reception).

The number of wedding films that you will receive will depend on your budget.

As a rule of thumb, we will always strive to deliver at least one summary of your wedding day as well as a documentary style cut of your wedding ceremony in full.

When Will We Receive Our Wedding Photos And/Or Videos?

We hate waiting ourselves. You probably hate waiting too, especially when it comes to wanting to relive your wedding day memories.

For our wedding photography-only clients, we typically deliver wedding photos 31-days after the wedding date.

For our wedding videography-only clients, we typically deliver wedding films in 45-days.

For clients who engage us for both wedding photography and wedding videography, we create an awesome online delivery experience within 60-days.

Do you need a wedding video in a shorter timeframe? Let us know.
